Ojingo Labs asked me to come up with a starting place to “hold” their existing blipBack and blipBooth widget products. Since their software was already location-aware, a map seemed to be the logical way to go. One thing I tried to do was play with the varying degrees of zoom in map apis (this one being Google Maps). Which is to say, when a user is fully zoomed out and staring at Earth, it’s difficult to really identify with the data. So, we incorporated one of the Ojingo robots to help guide the user to drill into the map with a little more enjoyment.
