mCrossing was the “mobile arm” of iCrossing, a search-based interactive agency. The challenge here was to borrow from the existing identity while still allowing a new voice to emerge.
After countless sketches, I had somewhat of an epiphany. Since the company was born out of “everything search,” I noticed the very common search glass2 in desktop interfaces was remarkably similar to a lowercase “i”1 (as in iCrossing). However exciting this was, the mobile element was still missing. After either a walk in the park or banging my head against the wall, it was as simple as replicating the search glasses to form an antenna + radiowave type thing, which was my final element: mobile3.
